Terms of Service
Effective 16 October 2026. These terms apply to franchise-lens.com, the FranchiseLens questionnaire and the reports it produces (the "service"), operated by FranchiseLens from Victoria, Australia ("FranchiseLens", "we"). By using the service you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use it.
1. What the service is
FranchiseLens is a free screening tool. It compares your questionnaire answers with information from more than 1,100 franchise systems' 2026 Franchise Disclosure Documents (FDDs) and produces a ranked shortlist and report. It is general information to help you decide what to research next.
2. It is not advice
The service is not legal, financial, tax, accounting or investment advice, and it is not a recommendation to buy any franchise. FranchiseLens is not a franchise broker, franchise seller or franchisor, and does not sell franchises. Before you sign anything or invest, read the franchisor's current FDD in full and speak with a franchise attorney and a qualified financial adviser.
3. Free, and never conditional on consent
The report costs nothing. You receive the full report whether or not you agree to be introduced to a franchise consultant. Introductions happen only if you tick the optional consent box, as described in our Privacy Policy.
4. Who can use it
You must be 18 or older and in the United States. The service is not currently available to residents of California, New York or Washington.
5. Your information
You agree to give accurate information, including a mobile number that belongs to you, so we can verify it. We may decline to send a report, or delete a request, if information appears false or automated.
6. Accuracy and how rankings work
Rankings come from a fixed scoring method applied the same way to every brand. Figures are taken from FDDs and reflect each franchisor's prior fiscal year; they may be out of date, incomplete or affected by errors in reading the documents. No franchisor pays to appear in or rank within a report. See our Disclaimer for the limits of the data.
7. Acceptable use
You may use your report for your own personal decision-making. You may not copy, scrape, resell or republish the service, its reports or its data; submit requests on behalf of others without their permission; use automated tools to submit the form; or try to interfere with the site or its security.
8. Intellectual property
The site, scoring method, report design and compiled data belong to FranchiseLens. FDDs and franchisor trademarks belong to their owners. Brand names appear only to identify the franchise being described; this does not mean the franchisor endorses or is connected with FranchiseLens.
9. Third parties
If you consent to an introduction, the consultant is an independent business, not our employee or agent. We are not responsible for their advice, conduct or any agreement you make with them or with a franchisor.
10. No warranty
The service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we give no warranty that it is accurate, complete, uninterrupted or fit for a particular purpose. Nothing in these terms excludes rights you have under laws that cannot be excluded, including the Australian Consumer Law where it applies.
11. Limit of liability
To the extent the law allows, FranchiseLens is not liable for any loss arising from your use of the service or from any investment decision, including lost profits or indirect loss. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to US$100, or, where the law requires, to supplying the service again.
12. Changes and ending the service
We may change, pause or stop the service, and may update these terms by posting a new version with a new effective date. Continuing to use the service means you accept the updated terms.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia. Each party submits to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts there. If you are a consumer, you keep any protections the law of your home state gives you that cannot be waived.
